Olympic Cottage

Within walking distance of the National Sailing Centre, Olympic Cottage is part of the award winning Officer,s Field residential development built originally to house athletes during the Olympic sailing events of 2012. The open plan layout downstairs is perfect for guests to enjoy cooking, eating and relaxing together. Or venture out for a bite to eat with many different options all within walking distance of the cottage.

The accommodation at Olympic Cottage comprises of an open plan lounge/kitchen/diner equipped with freezer, dishwasher, washer/dryer, CD music system and TV. A combined cloakroom/utility area rounds off the ground floor.

One the first floor, bedroom one is a kingsize double with flatscreen TV. Bedroom two is a twin. The bathroom has bath, shower over, hand basin and toilet.

Outside is a fully enclosed back garden with patio and lawn area, patio table and chairs. Allocated off road parking space for one car only, accessed under an archway 2.2m high.

Chiswell

Chiswell was once the biggest settlement on Portland but with its close proximity to the sea, the hurricane of 1824 changed that. These days the sea defences protect Chiswell which is good as it is full of charm. Chesil Beach is right on your door step, so walks or any activity to do with the sea is very close to hand. The Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Centre is also a short walk away. Look out for the beautiful walled community garden near Great Ope, a great place to stop for a very tranquil 5 or 10 minutes.

Facilities

There are a few shops in Chiswell including an excelent fish shop selling freshly caught local fish. For going out for a drink or something to eat and you are in for a treat. The 18th century Cove House Inn sits just alongside Chesil Beach. Further round Chesil Cove sits Quiddles Cafe. The BlueFish Cafe and restaurant specialises in fish dishes and there is also an Indian restaurant/takeaway if you fancy something a little more exotic.
